KAKO-IMA-MIRAI ~CHAPTER 2~

Reiya was trying to ignore her guilt, even though she knew that her word had hurt Minami. But, this is what should I do. I don’t care why, I don’t care how, I just don’t want to lose again, she tried to deny her consciousness.
At the same time, elsewhere…
“This is because your stupidity! Why should I be your partner?!?!” said a young man passionately. And guess who was his partner? Yup, a blue dragon with shiny scale and a pair of wings attached to it’s back. But for a dragon, well, it was little compared to any other known dragon.
“Don’t you dare complain on me! My size makes my sensor not fully functioned! Kids like you can just whining to the elders!” said the dragon.
“Oh, please Souryuu! Think about it! We have traveled all around Japan for this! How many times I’ ve made reasons to my Dad about transferring?! And now, after spending almost half of my life cost, you said that that person is here?!?! In Tokyo?!?!” he said pretty angry.
“Oh come on Minoru. The point is we’ve made sure that the place is here. Just do your job, ok?! If not, the evil will get stronger before we met Shinsei na Hito! Grow up man!” the blue dragon named Souryuu said firmly while flapping it’s wings.
“Fine! We must hurry then. I’m getting tired with all of this Guardian thing. I’ll get my rest now cause tomorrow I’ll go to the new school”, Minoru said then turned to go to his room yawning all the way.
“Get all the rest you can get, Kiddo. Cause maybe you can’t make it again later”, mumbled Souryuu.
The next day, at Tokyo Private High, Reiya was walking to her classroom when she heard a girl’s voice calling, precisely shouting, her name.
“Reiya, Hikari Reiya!!”
Reiya stopped. She heard some footsteps behind her so she turned around. Then, in front of her, a brunette girl with short hair and dark brown eyes was staring her furiously. “Oh, it’s just you”, Reiya said with an uninterested look.
“What do you mean by it’s just you!! What is it on your mind when yesterday you talked to Minami?!” the girl spat right in front of Reiya’s face. Reiya stood still indifferent.
“Ritsuko, stop it!” suddenly Minami showed up beside the brunette girl. The commotion attracted few students that passed them.
“What are you talking about Minami?! After so long we don’t know her condition, now she shows up and said that she doesn’t want to see us again! Ordinary people?!?! Who is she to say things like that?!” rambled Ritsuko.
Reiya just closed her eyes and turned to walk again to her classroom.
“Hey, where are you going! I’m not finished with you!” shouted Ritsuko.
Reiya stopped. “Sorry, I don’t have time to talk to people like you”, said Reiya without even a glance then she walked again. A few students around them murmured something like ‘What is it? A quarrel?’ and ‘I don’t know that Hikari was that arrogant’.
“You!!!” Ritsuko was trying to chase after Reiya but she was stopped by Minami who clung to her arm tightly. “Just stop it Ritsuko! I know something was wrong with her but she’s still our friend! Give her sometime, ok?!” Minami said desperately. Ritsuko, even though still fuming, just held her breath until 8 count and released a big sigh. “Fine, let’s give her some time”, she said sadly. Then the two walked back to their class.

KAKO-IMA-MIRAI ~PROLOGUE~

“Hikari, your father!!”

“Miss, oh no… Master… He…”

“Rei, I want you to… to life your live… as you wish…. Please, forgive this… father… of… yours…”

The worst thing in this this world is human’s heart…
I know it. Really, really know it.
So, don’t trust anybody. Don’t make any relationship with anybody. Just forget about it.
And there will be just me…

Knock, knock, knock…
There were slight knock on the door...
“Miss Rei, this is me, Aki. Can I come in?”
“Go ahead”, came a muffled reply.
The door knob was opened and revealed an old woman who still looks beautiful despite of her mid-50 age. Her waist length grayish hair was tied in a bun and she wore a light green kimono with white obi. Her light brown eyes reflected her awareness but with a touch of tenderness.
“Miss, you haven’t eaten anything since 3 days ago. It’s better to have some dinner now. I’ve prepared it for you,” Aki said while inspecting her miss, which seated in the darkness, behind the desk with her head down.
Forlornly but sure, the younger woman said, “I’m not in the mood for food. If I’m hungry, I’ll go downstairs and eat. But now, I just wanna be here.”
“Miss, you can’t be like this,” Aki replied quickly. “ In this past 3 days, you just keep sitting and sitting at this room. I doubt that you’ll make it through another day with this condition.”
The younger women lifted her head slowly, revealing a pair of unfriendly dark amber eyes that was covered with some of her auburn bangs. “I don’t need you to tell me what I’m supposed to do. This is my body, my life. Father said that I should live my life as my wish. And this is my wish,” she stopped her talking, then lowered her head again. “Now, would you please leave me alone?” she said with an icy tone.
“Miss...”, Aki said with a little whimper. Her heart was hurt to see her miss turned out like that. But, I can’t help it. This is her choice, she thought sadly. So, she decided to leave that room. Before closing the door, Aki made a little glimpse towards her miss, then she closed the door and went downstairs to keep the dinner in case her miss decided to eat.
The younger woman, known as Hikari Reiya, was just a normal 17 years-old high school student. With her attractive dark amber eyes, mid-back auburn hair that always tied in a high pony tail, her athletic body and intelligence, she was one of the best students from Tokyo Private High.
Until that faithful day, the day when her father died…
Father, why did you leave me all alone like this? After mother’s death, you’re barely at home, leaving me all alone. Now, you’ve left for eternity. What should I do? she thought bitterly.
“I…hate you…”, she whispered to the coldness of the night.

KAKO-IMA-MIRAI ~CHAPTER 1~

Finally, at the sixth night after her father’s death, Reiya went downstairs and ate, even though just a little. The day after, she went to her school in her chaufereed black Volvo.
Up until now, she still couldn’t believe that her father had died. Why’s that thing happened? Her father was not sick, she believed that he was in a perfect condition. She hadn’t found any drug or anything suspicious resembled that in his room or work chamber.
So why this is happening? she thought hardly, barely noticed that she arrived at her school gate.
“Miss Reiya, we have arrived”, said the chauffer.
The middle-aged man’s voice broke her thoughts. “Ah, oh, where are we?”
“The school, Miss”, he replied with some kind but sad looks in his eyes.
“Oh, right. School. Thank you, Shinichirou-san”, she said cooly. She opened the door and stepped out from the car. Then, she walked through the gate of the school.
Tokyo Private High School. For easy explanation, not an ordinary school. This school was full of high officer, well known businessman, and many other type of important peoples’s children. Fortunately, this school was not so into money. Talent and ability were much more appreciated than a stack of gold coins.
“Rei!! Rei!!” a voice rang in the air calling her name. She tried to ignore it as she walked a little faster than she should be, but the voice seemed to get closer each time she took a step.
“Hei, Rei! It’s good to see you again here! How long has it been? A week maybe?” said the cheerful voice beside her. Rei tilted her head to right a little, caught a glance of shoulder length brown haired girl, in a neat ponytail and grinning from ear to ear.
“Minami…” Rei said with a groan Her shoulders stiffed and she balled her left fist.
Minami, still with her grin, stared at Reiya with dark green eyes. She looked so happy to see her friend’s came back to school. “ Rei, how’s doing? It was so hard to see you. Ritsuko and I have came to your house five times or so, but we couldn’t meet you. You’re fine, right?” Minami asked enthusiastically. But, no reply came from Reiya.
“Rei, what’s wrong?” Minami asked again with a slight hint of worry in her voice.
“It’s me”, came a muflled reply from Reiya.
“Huh?” Minami looked at Reiya, befuddled.
“It’s me who forbade the maids to let you in”, Reiya replied coldly.
Minami rather taken aback with Reiya’s answer. “What do you mean, Rei?” Minami asked Reoya again, her voice went down a note.
“Don’t you get it?!” Reiya answered, expressionless. “Let me get it through you. I told the maids to not let you in even a step to my house!” she said it a little louder.
Shock was evident on Minami’s face. “But, but why? We are friends, aren’t we?” Minami tried to pry more answers from Reiya. Unkwon to Minami, Reiya’s grip on her left is tightened.
“Oh, please. How can I make you get it?! I DON’T LIKE BOTH OF YOU!” she emphasized each words with an unpleasant face towards Minami. This made Minami’s brow wrinkled even more. Reiya gave out an exasperated sigh. She halted, thus made Minami stopped just a step behind her. She tilted her head to her right, looked at Minami through her shoulder.
“Look, we’re different. You and Ritsuko just ordinary people, and I won’t hang out with ordinary people. My, what make you think that I would be friended with the likes of you?! That’s just plain ridiculous! Just, don’t come near me again!” Reiya finished her blow, then took a faster pace to her classroom, left Minami behind with more shocked look on her face than before.
